No Excuses

During my last trip home to St. Croix to visit Mom, I went for walks every single morning, and was blessed to do three book signings for Meditations Across The King’s River.

And during one of my morning walks, two words came to me that I want to share with you.

  1. No excuses.
  2. No apologies

These are important word. Remember them. You can’t move forward if you make excuses for why you should stay where you are.

And you shouldn’t apologize to anyone who judges you because you’ve decided you want a better life for yourself.

The only one who needs to approve of your vision is you..

Be careful with excuses. They pop up in many ways and often seem like valid, logical reasons.

Do any of these reasons sounds familiar to you ?

  1. I’ll do it but not right now.
  2. I need more information.
  3. Too risky.
  4. Takes too long.
  5. Not sure I have what it takes.
  6. What if it does’t work out?
  7. But I’ll miss Game of Thrones
  8. After the kids are grown.
  9. After the Raiders game.
  10. What will others think?

Here’s a tip. Instead of finding comfort in excuses, think of the number one reason why you need to move forward. In the business world we call this knowing your WHY.

Let me tell you something, my friend. There is another world waiting for you, and I believe you have more options than you think. You do not have to stay where you are. You can live a more empowered life.

Talk soon. Until then, no excuses.

Every moment is precious

Each moment is precious…

Of course we all know this, but we often forget — until something happens that snaps us back to this reality.

For me, that something happened recently while traveling.

I got a text from a dear friend from St. Croix. It wasn’t good news. Her son-in-law, a bright young man I had the pleasure of meeting during my last trip home to the Virgin Islands is no longer with us.

A car accident ended his life..

I’ve been thinking about him every day since then.

I liked his energy and admired his vision for the future. He had plans to build a home and raise a family.

One moment he was here and the next moment he was gone. Less than 45 days after we met.

Life is unpredictable. You know this and I know it. Yet we often act as though we have all the time in the world to do or say what really matters to us.

Each moment counts, each moment is precious, each moment is a rare gift.

I’m sharing this message because it’s easy to lose sight of what’s important and who’s important in our lives.

Life is a mystery and who knows how much time we have on this journey to earth. But we can decide to celebrate this gift we have been given, we can decide to live life to your fullest, we can decide to love.

We can decide to live our best life…

…That’s what I plan to do. I am praying you will too!

Would love to hear your thought so please reply, and I will respond as soon as I can. And if you’re struggling with anything please feel free to write as well.

Until then, all my love.
